Our Bags Are Packed – We’re Ready to Go

Our bags are packed.  The refrigerators and freezers are empty, and everything in the house is in its place ready for our departure.  The last couple of weeks we’ve been going out to dinner virtually every night with friends and family to say one last goodbye. It’s been very hectic, and we can’t wait to get back to our big baby.

This year we are headed to Burgundy.  We spent a week there on a charter barge three years ago, but now we’re really going to explore this delightful region.  Not only is Burgundy known for its great wines, but don’t forget Dijon and the wonderful mustards we will be sampling.  Of course there will be great cheeses, and bread to go with the wine.

“The barge we and our friends chartered in 2010 on the Burgundy Canal.”

“The Burgundy Canal.”

“The Abbey of Fontenay.”

“Chateauneuf en Auxois in the background.”

We’ve got lots of friends that are coming to visit us, and we may even have a few surprise visitors.  This is a very exciting time for Lisa and I, and if these damn fires don’t burn our house down it will be even better.

“It’s Spring, and there are lots of baby geese around the house.”

“A skycrane picking up a load of water in front of our house.”

“The fire behind our house taken from one of our hikes.”
